Additive description
HEMIX SM is a superplasticizer, water reducer, stabilizer, setting retarder and in terms of consumer properties meets the requirements of GOST 24 211-2008 "Additives for concrete and mortars. General technical conditions".
Field of application
HEMIX SM is used for production of commercial concrete with high storability (classes B7,5-B40 inclusive). It can be used in the production of self-compacting concrete and concrete for prestressed structures.
The admixture is suitable for use in “warm” concrete (up to -10 °C).

- increase mobility from P1 to P5 at constant water-cement ratio;
- obtain high resistance to delamination;
- increase storability up to and including 3-4 hours;
- increase early demolding strength under natural conditions;
- eliminate false setting.
Mechanism of action
The action of HEMIX SM is based on the adsorption of molecules on the surface of cement particles. This generates an electric charge of the same name and causes an electrostatic repulsion effect, which prevents the particles from coming closer together and prevents the formation of conglomerates.
In addition, there is a spatial effect in the mechanism of action, for which the side chains of the molecule are responsible. The sum of the two effects results in a high water-reducing action.
Dosage
The additive should be applied in an amount of 0.8-2.2% of the cement weight. The exact dosage depends on the concrete requirements and is calculated under laboratory conditions.

Application
- Mix the admixture before use.
- Introduce HEMIX SM into the concrete mix together with the first or the last third of the water required for mixing.
- Allow sufficient mixing time after the admixture has been added.
