Additive description

HEMIX PLUS is a superplasticizer, water reducer, stabilizer, setting retarder and in terms of consumer properties meets the requirements of GOST 24 211-2008 "Additives for concrete and mortars. General technical conditions".

Field of application

HEMIX PLUS is used for production of commercial concrete with high mobility and strength. The admixture is used for production of self-compacting cast-in-place concrete, as well as bridge structures and hydraulic engineering products.

Suitable for use in concrete mixtures with contaminated aggregates.

Advantages

HEMIX PLUS, with rather low consumption, significantly improves the workability of concrete mixtures and mortars, as well as provides high storability.

The use of the admixture allows:

• increase mobility from P1 to P5 at constant water-cement ratio;
• use up to 70% of sand from crushing sands in the mix;
• obtain high resistance to delamination;
• increase storability up to and including 6 hours;
• eliminate false setting.

Mechanism of action

The mechanism of action of HEMIX PLUS is based on the adsorption of molecules on cement particles. As a consequence, an electric charge of the same name is formed and an electrostatic repulsion effect occurs, which prevents the particles from coming together and forming conglomerates.

In the mechanism of action of the additive there is also a spatial effect, for which the side chains of the molecule are responsible. The sum of the two effects results in a high water-reducing action.

Regulation of the degree of adsorption leads to the fact that not all the amount of the additive is adsorbed on the surface - a part remains in the free volume and continues to adsorb on the neoplasm. This ensures a longer plasticizing effect.

Dosage

The additive should be applied in the amount of 0.55-1.1% of the cement weight. The exact dosage depends on the concrete requirements and is calculated in the laboratory.

Application

• Mix the admixture before use.
• Introduce HEMIX PLUS into the concrete mix together with the first or the last third of the water required for mixing.
• Allow sufficient mixing time after the addition of the admixture.

Important: HEMIX PLUS must not be added to dry mix.
