The additive is produced on the basis of polyester derivatives with the addition of antifreeze components and lignin sulfo-derivatives. The product accelerates the strength gain of the concrete mixture and provides storability at low temperatures (down to -25 °C)

Superplasticizing additive HEMIX KS

Additive Description

HEMIX KS is a superplasticizer, strength gain gas pedal, water reducer, metal corrosion inhibitor.

It refers to the type of anti-freeze additives for “warm” concrete and in terms of consumer properties meets the requirements of GOST 24 211-2008 "Additives for concrete and mortars. General technical conditions".

Field of application

HEMIX KS is used as a superplasticizer and antifreeze additive for the production of ready-mix concrete at subzero temperatures (down to -25 °C). It can be used in the production of concrete for prestressed structures.

Maximum strength growth is ensured when the concrete is heated from outside.

Advantages

HEMIX KS contributes to the production of concrete mixtures with high early and final strength, frost resistance, water resistance and mobility. As a result, the workability of slow-moving concrete mixtures in conditions of low temperatures is significantly improved.

The use of the additive allows:

  • obtain high plasticizing and antifreeze properties, as well as rapid concrete strength gain;
  • ensure concrete hardening at low and negative temperatures (down to -25 ° C);
  • increase mobility from P1 to P5 without reducing concrete strength;
  • increase mobility retention;
  • improve the quality of concrete structure compaction;
  • increase resistance to delamination;
  • reduce concrete corrosion.
Mechanism of action

The mechanism of action of the additive is based on the adsorption of polycarboxylate ester molecules with different molecular weights combined with a complex effect of accelerated strength gain.

With the addition of HEMIX KS a dispersion process is initiated, when due to electrostatic repulsion forces the particles cannot come closer together and form conglomerates. As a consequence, the amount of water required for mixing and obtaining concrete mixtures with specified characteristics is reduced.

Cement solubility decreases, hydration of clinker minerals occurs, and the number of new formations in the cement stone increases. As a result, the strength of the composition increases.

In addition, the use of the additive allows you to concrete any structures with dense reinforcement or complex geometric shape without the use of vibrators. The mixture in the process of placement self-compacts and squeezes out the involved air.

Dosage

It is available in two types: HEMIX KS and HEMIX KS K2. The admixture should be added to the concrete mixture in the amount of 0.6-2.0% of cement weight and temperature.
The exact dosage depends on the concrete requirements and is calculated under laboratory conditions.

Application

Mix the admixture before use.
Introduce HEMIX KS into the concrete mix together with the first or last third of the mixing water required for mixing.
Allow sufficient mixing time after the admixture has been added.
Important: HEMIX KS must not be added to dry mix.
